Steve Lewallen

Principal, CEO, Sr. Medical Planner


Steve has nearly 40 years of experience in architecture, with a primary focus on medical planning. He was the director of architecture and construction at a major teaching hospital before founding Health Facilities Group. Steve averages a dozen significant planning studies every year. The studies are customized for every client and often include the analysis of market conditions, demographics of the service region and surrounding areas, evaluation of the existing facility and site, space and operations programming, development of alternative plan concepts, and cost estimates.

David Wright

Principal, COO


David coordinates and oversees the business and project operations for HFG and serves as a liaison for many of the firm’s ongoing client relationships. He has more than 25 years of experience in all phases of architectural design, production, coordination and construction administration. David also is an experienced medical planner and has been involved in more than 100 notable health care projects. He is certified with the American College of Healthcare Architects.

Tim Dudte

Principal, VP Design


Tim has more than 25 years of experience as an architect, and his role at HFG includes project management, program management, medical planning and oversight of design. HFG’s clients appreciate the passion and creative energy he brings to their projects.

Bruce Jones

Principal, Sr. Project Manager


Bruce has more than 30 years of design experience in multiple project types. Over the last few years, he has become a specialist in hospital replacement facilities, as well as complex medical renovations and additions. In addition to typical project management functions, Bruce brings to his projects an attention to detail and quality control necessary for successful adherence to project design, schedule and budgets.

Brent Castillo

Principal, VP Communications

Brent oversees communications and business development for HFG. He serves as a liaison between our firm and our clients. He also assists clients in building public support for projects.

Mark Crane

Mark has more than 30 years of experience. He serves an important role at HFG as a senior project manager and client liaison who is skilled at managing complex projects while allowing facilities to maintain operations and keep patients safe.

Nancy Steele

Sr. Project Manager


Nancy has more than 30 years of experience in architecture with a primary focus on health care. Over the course of the last 15 years, she has completed several large projects for a major regional hospital maintaining her role as its on-call architect. Nancy brings a wealth of health care knowledge to her projects, as well as a diverse background of project types.

Laura Mattson

Director Interior Design

Laura leads HFG’s interior design team, and has extensive experience in the interior design of major healthcare projects. She has more than 20 years of experience, and has studied best materials and finishes for sustainable design in a healthcare environment. She is also skilled at equipment planning.

Kathy Clements

Business Manager

Kathy has more than 30 years of experience in management with a focus in finance and accounting. She oversees HFG’s business activity and is responsible for accounting, human resources and operational best practices.
